Our Story

I’ve been a teacher for the last 21 years. 

On November 7, 2022 I woke up in my left leg had entirely stopped working. I was having a stroke due to stress. 

While I was recovering, I made a promise to myself that I was going to eliminate the things that were bringing me stress so that I could focus on what I loved, that being teaching. 

The number one source of stress which surprises many people was attendance. 

Why Number One? 

We’re contractually and legally obligated to take attendance every day. That’s because it is the number one variable in determining school funding as well as the fact that teachers administrators, parents and the court system use attendance for discipline. 

However, the attendance process is distracting and prone to error. 

So I created Attendance Genius. 

We’ve since added a number of different functionalities to AG. Students, teachers administrators and entire departments... they were all frustrated by the traditional means of handling attendance and love Attendance Genius.
